BIENNALE INTERNATIONALE – Curitiba, Brésil

08/30/2013

31 August – 1st December 2013

The Bienal Internacional de Curitiba « Magnet River » by Juli Susin in the famous Museum Oscar Niemeyer with the Works of Andre Butzer, Andy Hope 1930, Jonathan Meese, Veronique Bourgoin et Juli Susin.

Juli Susin, founder of Royal Book Lodge has turned publishing into a collaborative process that transcends the physical reality of the book, to generate constellations of meaning that combine video, performance, photography, painting, drawing and other media to produce unexpected cartographies. Magnet River, his proposal for this show, is like a circular river that flows into itself and cascades over itself, dragging along in its currents, artists with whom he has been working for a long time. Connected thus by renewed links, the pieces enter into dialogue with one another and appear to evoke that famous verse of Borges: « Time is a river that sweeps me away, but I am the river. » Adriana Almada
